Solène Gün is a photographer living in Paris. A graduate of ECAL, she was awarded the Photoforum Prize in 2018 and the Swiss Design Awards in 2019. Her personal project and book Turunç was exhibited at Foam Amsterdam and shortlisted for the MACK First Book Award. She was named a Foam Talent in 2021.
Her work moves between fashion, portraiture and documentary with quiet authority. Defined by architectural awareness and a refined balance between softness and strength, her images explore space, presence and interiority. Bodies appear grounded yet introspective, inhabiting the frame with dignity and restraint.
Light plays a structural role in her practice. Through subtle chromatic dialogues and the sculptural clarity of materials, she approaches color as a language of emotion, where tone operates almost as vibration. Color shapes atmosphere and psychological depth rather than serving ornament.
At the core of her work lies an exploration of identity and belonging. She portrays youth with restraint, allowing gesture, posture and silence to carry meaning. Working seamlessly across editorial and commercial contexts, she maintains a coherent authorial voice defined by precision, stillness and emotional clarity.
